Ys [userpic]

No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted. (Work safe, has music but sound isn't really required to get the message.)

Current Mood: contemplativecontemplative

Thank you for posting this. I am going to email it to my daughter. She's 9 and has already cried about not being thin enough. When she was 4 she used to walk up to me and say, I have lovely skin and beautiful hands. *sigh*

There are several others on youtube. Search for 'dove "little girls"' as well.

And the funny thing is, I don't even think the final result is at all appealing. In fact, she looks like straight CGI.

I agree (and if you look at the comments on the video you'll see me -- as randomdad -- say almost exactly the same thing.) She looks plastic. She looked real before, and who wouldn't prefer a real woman to a plastic one? (Rhetorical question and I'd rather not know the answer.)

Thanks for posting the video, Ys, I'm trying to cut down on youtube linking. :) Even thought it showed me nothing I didn't intellectually know, it still startled me.

Of all places, the new show Ugly Betty touched on the subject in its second episode, with an actress being "retouched" over her objections for the fashion magazine about which the show centers.

(Rhetorical question and I'd rather not know the answer.)

Read the comments on youtube. There's at least one person who said something like "I wish all girls could look like that all the time."

Nice photoshopping. I may try that excersize.

Large almond eyes. Thin neck. Pale skin. - ALIEN!!!

Its an alien conspiracy to get human males to mate with them after the invasion.
