Ask The Faeries

I've done this once before and I'm in the mood to do it again today. One-card readings from the Brian Froud/Jessica Macbeth The Faeries' Oracle deck by request.

Somewhere between the first fifteen people and the first thirty people to ask for a card will get one (or possibly more, if the faeries insist, but I guarantee at least one). I may not get to all the actual readings today, but I will post an edit when I'm not taking any more requests. If you give me a question, I'll try to interpret with that in mind. If not, I'll be more general.

Be aware that this deck is really, really prone to poking fun at askers of questions, and I will not water down that tone at all. *grin* But it should be all in fun. Usually, anyway...

P.S. cow, koemiko, lyssabard, littlone and dekucat, since I missed you last time any of you may have a card just by asking, even if I've closed it. I'll keep you in mind when I decide when to close requests.

ETA: Yes, I know LJ is going down any moment now. If you get in before then, maybe I'll have them when LJ's back up, if not, well, I'm doing this when LJ comes back up this afternoon. :)

ETA: I have fifteen as of right now. I'll probably do a few more but how many depends in part on how these go.

ETA: Taking a break for a few. I have seventeen requests so far, and I'm thinking I'll stop at twenty-one, since I like the idea of seven by three requests.

ETA: I have twenty-one requests. This round is closed. I'm working through the remaining readings.

The expression on the Fee Lion's face is the same one we see on the cat's face, saying, "You know I have my dinner at five o'clock." He is the deliverer of guilt, the one who reminds us of all the things we really should be doing right now. He sometimes gets a little grumpy about this because it's his job to do this, and he'd rather be out playing himself.
For you, he is standing on his head, which is his way of saying, "Wait a minute...who's idea was this anyway?" He has plenty to remind you of without you taking on more "shoulds" than are really yours. How many of your guilty feelings are really yours, and how many are old baggage, or unrealistic demands, or just not your problem? Are you taking on tasks that aren't yours to do?
The Fee Lion wants to be your friend, wants to play with you, but he can't until you are free to play yourself. Discharge the duties that are really yours, and don't make him wait by taking on ones that don't belong to you.

The Dark Lady is the high priestess of the Mysteries. She is all about spiritual ritual, and the power ritual can have if we understand how to surrender to it. She is the one who travels with us through the darkness (of night, of grief, of change, of winter) and helps us make it to the other side.
Inverted, she warns that when we don't listen to her, we can get caught up in the outer world, and ignore the world within. Many sorts of blockages can result; blockages of emotion, of libido, of our own magic. None of these blockages are good things.

I'd like one, if that's okay.

*grin* Helps if I have a question, right?

*sigh*

I'm hoping to finish school in a few months. Is there a way I can speed up my progress and/or how will I continue doing?

Please!
And thank you! :)
Same request as before. (Help with my anxiety and fears).

Arval Parrot is the faerie who reminds us that communication is hard work, and yet crucially important. He tells us that both listening well and speaking clearly and honestly are important. He also reminds us that not all communication is in words; body language, tone, word choice and things not said are all important bits of our communication.

I'm not sure exactly what he's trying to tell you, given your question. Perhaps you have unspoken anxiety that needs to be shared with someone?

I'd like one. I don't have a real specific question. Maybe a topic of "cope" being nearly out of.

Solus is the last of the Singers, and he thus straddles realities. When we don't know what we need, he is there to help, if asked. He encourages us to use our strengths, and yet understands that we may need help to shore up our weaknesses, and so helps us make the connections we need to get that support.
He is often an indication of something new in our lives, particularly something that comes jointly from our own efforts and the efforts of other people or other realms. His presence is vitalizing and warm. What he asks is that you also pass on the blessings you have, that you serve from your strengths when needed.

One for me, please?

Question is how to deal with money issues.

The Bodacious Bodach is the consummate meddler. He means well, truly he does, but more often than not his meddling causes far more problems than it solves. Unfortunately, the only way to keep him from coming around and meddling in your affairs is to have those affairs in order. Do some tidying, literally and/or figuratively.

Feeling random, so sure. Topic is life direction / where am I going now...

A Collective of Pixies are all about joyful performing of necessary duties. However, when reversed, as they are for you, they don't have enough to do and they get into mischief. Make sure you, and everyone involved, has enough to do without being overloaded, and find the joy in doing those things which are necessary. Dance with the Pixies as they help the plants grow and the world turn at the right speed.

I'd like one, please.

Question: Triangle or Twin?

Indi cannot ever make up his mind. Should it be this, or that? Usually when he shows up it's a sign that someone needs to stop waffling and make a decision, whatever that decision may be, but when he's standing on his head, like he is for you, perhaps he is right to hesitate. Sometimes there isn't enough information to decide, and Indi wants you to make sure you know everything you can know before you decide, so that you make an informed decision.

I love that deck!

I would love to have a reading since you're someone who doesn't know me very well.

Question: I have been exploring a personal mystery about a guide's identity. I think I have figured out the identity, but I am having trouble knowing if I hit on it or if I'm subconsciously "picking" who I want it to be. So the question is, am I receiving a lesson in trusting my own intuition, or do I need external confirmation (read: reality check) from someone I trust in these matters?

I know you're offering for free, but should you ever want a divination in return, now or later, I would be happy to read for you.

And again Indi visits, again standing on his head. (See my answer to devichan, right before you.) Indi is the master of indecision, but when he is reversed, this often means that it's right to find out more before proceeding. So I'd say that Indi thinks you should get a reality check before you decide.

sends:

requesting answer: how best to proceed with facing the world, when at the moment we have an intense, and mutual, desire to isolate?

with thanks.

The Dark Lady is the missress of rituals, mysteries and secrets. She is the one who travels with us through darkness, whether that is a darkness of grief, of winter or of night. We find her in deep surrender or ritual, and she is telling you that perhaps a little isolation, a little time with the Dark Lady isn't such a bad idea. One cannot be revitalized without some time within, one cannot wake rested in the morning without dreaming through the night.

i'll play! :)

Honesty, standing on his head, asks us whether we are being honest with ourselves. Especially where emotions are involved, denial and self-deception are so easy to fall into. It's possible that clear-sighted, objective outside help would be useful.

The Soul Shrinker's job is to reflect the negative things you say to and about others back to you, so that you have a clearer picture of what you're doing and can be a better person. It's a thankless job, but someone has to do it.
Reversed, he is telling us that there is cruelty of some sort here, and that negative energy is hurting everyone involved. The best way to address this is positivity, compliments, and blessings. It's even better if they're heartfelt, but some is better than nothing.

I'm not sure how this applies to your question, but hopefully it'll make some sense to you.

Hi, hi.

So, what's wrong with me?

(What's with the Fee Lion today? Second time so far, inverted both times.)

Hit me.
Will we get arthus before the next nerf?

"What would make her happiest?"

Yes please. I do not have a specific question.

Since you're offering, I could use soem Faerie advice. No specific question (though I know that's asking for more mischief).

I'd love a one-card fairy reading.

Hm, sure. I've been trying to figure out how to word this, but .. I'm in a weird place right now where I've got my wants and needs covered, but am feeling vaguely unfulfilled, and so I guess my question is, what should be next? (Or, what should I strive for, or where should I go from here, or...)

If you're still taking questions, I would love to ask one.

I am. Do you have something specific or just want a general reading?

Yay, I get to have a card this time!

A blind reading would be okay, but if we're going the question route:

I always seem to be struggling with the same issues. I don't know how to solve them, and quite often I lose as much ground as I've gained on a regular basis. What does this mean and/or why can't I seem to break myself out of this cycle?

(Also: thank you for the special mention and doing this. Really, it's very kind of you. ^_^)

If you're still reading, I would definitely appreciate a card.

I honestly can't come up with any one specific question at the moment. They all basically pertain to my life-path during the upcoming year though, so maybe read with that general direction in mind?

Thank you...
